This book simplifies a multifaceted matter involving politics, society, and religion. It acknowledges the growing influence of the public in global and inter-racial affairs within the framework of modern democratic principles. While it refrains from giving specific guidance to those directly managing these matters, it provides a fundamental overview. The author's extensive experience of more than two decades in diverse regions of the Muslim world underscores their authority. The book is structured into chapters that delve into the issue's origins, its relevance to wartime, its strengths and weaknesses, the interaction between Muslims and missionaries, and a call for tolerance.

G. Wyman Bury (1874-1920) was a British naturalist, explorer, author, and political officer in the army. He received his commission in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in 1894 and engaged with rebel tribes in Morocco. He conducted archaeological and natural history work in the Aden desert in 1896, followed by explorations in the Rub' al Khali (Empty Quarter) from 1897 to 1901. Bury was also involved in political and military operations in the Aden Protectorate and Yemen. He participated in naval operations along the Arabian coast during World War I and played a role in the successful Arab revolt led by Hussein bin Ali. Bury passed away in 1920 from tuberculosis. Some of his notable publications include "The Land of Uz" (1911), "Arabia Infelix" (1915), and "Pan-Islam" (1919).
