William George Black (1857–1932) was a Scottish antiquary, lawyer, and politician from Glasgow. Educated at Glasgow University, he was involved in various political and civic causes, serving as a Liberal Unionist candidate and holding leadership roles in organizations like the Glasgow Good Government League. Active during World War I, he was awarded a CBE for his work with V.A.D. committees and post-war officer training. A passionate antiquarian, he contributed to Scottish archaeology and folk medicine, wrote extensively on law, and presented the re-erected Mercat Cross to Glasgow in 1930. Black was also active in local charities and educational institutions.
