Taking the original manuscript of four novels as a starting point, Del manuscrito al libro, reveals the important subtext that these works hide. The study questions whether the traditional book format - the codex - is the adequate support to transmit certain fictions and suggests innovative formats that are better suited to the narrative proposal of the authors. The analysis focuses on a corpus made up of four novels by renowned Ibero-American literary figures: Manuel Puig, Clarice Lispector, Ignácio Loyola Brandão and Carmen Martín Gaite.

Rafael Climent-Espino joins the process of inception and literary creation of these fictions by showing the unexplored content of their authors' desks in an innovative and original reading.
