Fathers and Sons is a novel written by Ivan Turgenev in 1867. The story takes place in Russia during the mid-19th century and follows the lives of two generations of fathers and sons. The central characters are Arkady Nikolaevich Kirsanov, a young man who has just graduated from university, and his father, Nikolai Petrovich Kirsanov, a landowner who is struggling to adapt to the changing times.Arkady returns home to his father's estate with his friend, Evgeny Vasilich Bazarov, a nihilist and medical student who rejects traditional values and beliefs. The relationship between the two young men and their fathers is strained as they clash over their differing views on society, politics, and love.As the story unfolds, the characters are forced to confront their own beliefs and prejudices, leading to a series of dramatic events that test their relationships and ultimately force them to re-evaluate their lives.Fathers and Sons is considered a masterpiece of Russian literature and a classic example of the conflict between generations.
