The Greek Way explores the antiquities of Greece through their writing and art. In her debut that once became a household name, Edith Hamilton delved into the worlds of Homer and Pindar; Plato and his interpretation of Socrates; Aristophanes' comedies; Herodotus' and Thucydides' depiction of valour and sacrifice; as well as Xenophon and his take on civilized life. The idea of tragedy, philosophy and drama, as mastered by the Greeks, have come all the way up to the modern world. To build that connect between the past and the present, the wisdom of Greece and the ways of its people are unravelled layer by layer in an accessible and intriguing manner in this distinctive chronicle of history. This Hachette BlackJacket edition, now adorned with full-page illustrations, is a must-read for all who seek knowledge in an engaging and interesting way.

Edith Hamilton (1867–1963) was born in Dresden, Germany, to American parents and relocated to Indiana shortly after.
