1989 hatte ich nach einer Examensarbeit iiber Bachmanns Der Fall Franza, die dem Subjektproblem besondere Aufmerksamkeit widmete, einen Ausgangspunkt fUr die vorliegenden Studien gefunden. Die Schreibweise literarischer Dezentrierung des Subjekts im Fragment war in Abgrenzung zu verschiedenen systemtheoretischen Auffassungen seines Begriffs beschrieben worden. Eine abschlieBende Ausein- andersetzung mit Hegel hatte ergeben, daB im Text Bachmanns ein Subjekt zu sprechen fortfahre, noch nachdem die systemtheoretischen Fassungen seines Begriffs dekonstruiert waren. Es stand die Frage im Raum, wie das zu interpretieren sei. Wer spricht da noch? Ich hoffte, diese Frage in der Auseinandersetzung mit Heidegger klaren zu konnen. Heidegger schien nach Hegel philosophisch eine ahnliche Paradoxie auszutragen, wie Bachmann dies literarisch tat. Zugleich ist aber bekannt, daB Bachmann entschieden gegen diesen Vergleich protestiert und Heidegger stets scharf kritisiert hat. Diese Konstellation versprach spannend zu werden. Ich glaubte, mit ihrer Analyse einige Voraussetzungen kritisch einholen zu konnen, die in den poststrukturalen Lektiiren des Franza-Fragments bis dahin nur episodisch oder assoziativ diskutiert wurden. Bis heute stellt sich, wenn man Geschichte in den spaten Texten Bachmanns mitlesen will, das Problem, wie einerseits das offensichtliche kritische Potential der Dezentrierungstheorien, als deren Ahnherr Heidegger gelten kann, zu nutzen ware, andererseits aber die eben so offensichtlichen Affinitaten zu unbegrifflichen und pseudo-archaischen Totalisierungsmodellen aufgehellt und vermieden werden konnten. Denn die befreiende Nutzung assoziativer Unmittelbarkeiten in poststrukturalistischen Theorien und Interpretationen steht ohne Zweifel in problematischer Liaison mit der nachfaschistischen Unmittelbarkeit in der Epoche.
