With the help of a one-eyed servant named Hamet, Richard sets out on a perilous journey to find the treasure and win Zarah's hand in marriage. The novel is a thrilling adventure story with elements of romance and intrigue. It also explores themes of cultural differences, slavery, and the clash of civilizations between Europe and the Islamic world.
