Die Hauptpersonen des Stückes: Jazzmusiker, die in Paris an einem Musical über den Nationalhelden Rudolf Duala Manga Bell arbeiten; ein deutscher Blauhelm-Soldat; ein Amerikaner, militärischer Ausbilder oder UN-Beauftragter, der keine präzisen Auskünfte über seinen Status macht. Eine sterbenskranke Europäerin, die sich in den Villenvierteln der Europäerstadt isoliert, und ein kongolesisches Ehepaar, das hier Unterschlupf gefunden hat und nun seine zurückgelassenen Kinder nachkommen lassen will. An zentraler und zugleich marginaler Stelle steht eine internationale Gruppe von Filmleuten aus Berlin und Paris, welche die verschiedenen Zeitebenen in ihrer Herstellbarkeit und Reproduzierbarkeit vereinigt und verliert.
