Most medical books are written for the medical personnel or health care providers, but the book, Ways to Manage Diabetes is written for my patients. Our patients are wise enough to understand the short-term and long-term implications of the disease. In the coming decades India is going to become the hub of world diabetes. Let us together fight with diabetes and slow down its progress in India. The book contains 49 articles covering topics on prevention and control of Diabetes mellitus and various ways to avoid or delay complication of diabetes through day-to-day lifestyle modifications, healthy and nutritious diet, and use of anti-diabetic drugs. A number of suggestions have been provided whereby the diabetic patients will be able to lead a healthy and troublefree life. A few articles given in the book may have common features, and some may resemble one another, but each topic has a different message to convey. The book has been written keeping in view all the aspects of body and brain recommending light physical exercises, keeping a watch on risk factors and self monitoring. It will not only help diabetic patients but also those who wish to avoid this disease. It will be useful for doctors, clinicians and other medical professionals engaged in the treatment of diabetics.
