Vielen Studenten und Ärzten sind diese neuen Erkenntnisse bisher kaum zugänglich, nicht zuletzt deshalb, weil eine geschlossene" Übersichtsarbeit" bisher nicht existierte. Der Autor hat zahlreiche eigene anatomische und histologische Serienuntersuchungen durchgeführt, um die Problematik der Pathomechanik und Disposition dieser Verletzung besser zu erfassen. In einem umfassenden Kapitel wird über die einzelnen diagnosti- schen Möglichkeiten referiert und die Wertigkeit der jeweiligen Methoden erwogen. Die unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten der Therapie und die Vor-und Nachteile der einzelnen chirurgischen und konservativen Methoden werden anhand der eigenen experimentellen Untersuchungen und der gro en klinischen Erfahrung des Autors, sowie im Spiegel der Literatur beleuchtet. So werden Richtlinien für die Behandlung dieser Verletzung aufge- stellt. Die Luxation der Peroneussehnen ist eine seltene Verletzungsform, die jedoch auch häufig übersehen bzw. fehlgedeutet wird.
