Yarbro, Connie Henke: - Connie Henke Yarbro, RN, MS, FAAN, is Founding Editor of Seminars in Oncology Nursing, and Adjunct Courtesy Faculty, Sinclair School of Nursing, University of Missouri-Columbia. One of the founders of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) in 1975, she served as the first Treasurer (1975-1979) and President of the ONS (1979-1983). In 1981, she founded the ONS Foundation and served as President from 1982-1988. She has served on the Board of Trustees for the Association of Community Cancer Centers, the American Association for Cancer Education, advisory panels for the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Pharmacopeia, and numerous other committees and advisory panels. She is one of three editors of the comprehensive textbook of oncology nursing, Cancer Nursing: Principles and Practice (8th ed), Cancer Symptom Management (4th ed), Oncology Nursing Review (6th ed), ' Breast Care Certification Review (2nd ed), and co-editor of Oncology Nursing in the Ambulatory Setting and Cancer Pain Management (2nd ed). She has published over 100 articles and book chapters on topics related to cancer nursing and care, and is a national and international lecturer. She is Past President of the International Society for Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC), served on the Medical Advisory Board of CancerSource.com, the Board of Directors for the Center for Biomedical Continuing Education, the Alternative and Complementary Methods of Cancer Management Committee of the American Cancer Society and the Leadership and Development Committee of ONS. She has received numerous local, national and international awards and most recently was named a Living Legend by the American Academy of Nursing.
