Cui, Qingqing: - I am a Year 11 student and I have great interest in writing and in sharing my ideas. My interest for co-curricular activities falls into many different areas. I have been awarded the Bronze, Silver and Gold (current) Duke of Edinburgh's Award. I won First and Second Prize in the Melbourne International Youth Piano Competition, achieving also Associate Diploma in Piano and serving as College Pianist at school in 2022. I am enormously passionate about sport including swimming, basketball and cross country. I am a Victorian State Swimming Silver medallist. Alongside my teammates, I won Gold at the Championships and Finals of Girls Sport Victoria Swimming over the past three years. My first inspiration for this novel was the reflection of me in my favourite orange swimming race suit on the rippling water of the competition pool. The orange race suit was glowing, fast and magical in the cheers of the stadium. It gave me power and strength just like Ambar's Magical Necklace. My experience in social service, community volunteering and leadership roles has extended my vision and perception of the world around me and shown me how we can make a difference.I started writing this book when I was fourteen. The release of this book marks an important milestone in my life and my 17th birthday in August 2022. Over the past three years, this book has changed my life. I have enjoyed every step of the writing process and in bringing to life the story of Ambar's Magical Necklace. I hope you have enjoyed it too.
