About The Book

Timothy Bell is very good at being unnoticed. He has learned how to move through the day without drawing attention, how to keep his thoughts to himself, how to stay quiet so nobody asks questions he is not ready to answer. But one day, Timothy wanders off his usual path and takes a simple walk into the woods, hoping the trees and the quiet will calm the tight feeling he carries around. Instead, the woods give him something he never expected: a friend.

In a small clearing, Timothy meets Turdle, a tiny turtle with a trembling voice and a heart full of worry. Turdle speaks slowly and unevenly, and he is used to others rolling their eyes, rushing him, or laughing when his words come out wrong. He is convinced he is too slow to keep up, too small to matter, and too different to belong anywhere at all. He carries those fears like extra weight on his shell, and some days it seems like it might crush him.

Timothy does not arrive with perfect answers or magical fixes. What he offers is quieter, and somehow stronger: patience, kindness, and the steady gift of staying. He listens without hurrying. He waits without frustration. He talks to Turdle like his thoughts are worth hearing. As the days pass and the two spend more time together, their friendship becomes a safe place, a calm corner in a world that can feel loud and too big.

When Turdle's fears rise up again and threaten to pull him back into loneliness, Timothy makes a promise that surprises even himself, and then a choice that changes both of their lives. How Timmy Became a Bear is a warm, reassuring story about friendship, belonging, and the quiet courage it takes to love someone gently and faithfully. About The Author

Webber, Timothy C.: - Timothy C. Webber is a writer, Navy veteran, and lifelong tinkerer based in Dallas, Texas. Originally from Savannah, Georgia, he spent 11 years in the U.S. Navy, serving as an electronics technician before turning his attention to storytelling. His fiction explores how memory lives on, in objects, in silence, and in the things we leave behind. His debut novella, Death of a Cigarette, follows a single unlit cigarette carried through World War II, blending historical realism with quiet lyricism. Off the page, Tim restores old cuckoo clocks, carves wood by hand, and believes some things are worth fixing, especially stories.
