Like many others, I first became interested in this topic as a parent rather than as a medical doctor. These include high-dose vitamin therapies, detox protocols, and restrictive diets targeting presumed causes. Such ideas were often presented confidently - for example, asserting that vaccines or gluten sensitivity are primary causes of autism - yet they tend to overlook the numerous environmental, biological, and lifestyle factors that have become ingrained in modern living.
Human nature typically seeks a single identifiable cause and a clear cure, but complex conditions are rarely so straightforward. I thoroughly analysed and critically assessed many of these claims using established scientific principles and standards of evidence.

Several environmental factors and biological mechanisms discussed here - such as oxidative stress, inflammation, poor diet, endocrine disruption, metabolic issues, and toxic exposures - are also linked to chronic adult illnesses like cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disorders, autoimmune diseases, and some cancers. Therefore, understanding these factors and adopting reasonable precautionary measures may not only support healthy child development but also encourage adults to adopt healthier long-term lifestyle habits for their own well-being and for their future offspring.
