During the summer of 1915, a large family in East Texas experiences pain and pleasure with their guardian angels watching nearby. The family farm and molasses business require a lot of time and risks. But through it all, the God-fearing parents, Joseph and Sophie Schwartz instill in their fourteen children high moral values. This respectability can still be witnessed in the descendants of the fourteen children.

Backlund, Pam S.: - Pam Backlund is a retired high school science teacher living in San Angelo Texas. She loves writing and illustrating short stories...especially about her hometown and its vicinity. When not writing, she and her husband enjoy, visiting their sons and their families, gardening and cooking for gatherings. She was a high school science teacher at San Angelo ISD, religious education teacher at Holy Angels Catholic Church, and a volunteer with many organizations.

Wanegar, A. J.: - "AJ Wanegar was born in Massachusetts USA in 1970. As a young child, she immediately fell in love with drawing and painting. She's completed more than 10 accredited art and design courses, obtaining a degree in Visual Communication from the University of South Carolina in 1990. AJ has remained active in the illustration and design field throughout her lifetime - developing a style that combines crisp lines and vibrant colors that children love. Presently a resident of Tennessee, Mrs. Wanegar is an award winner both as a watercolor artist and as a children's book illustrator. She's also an advocate for animal welfare and a supporter of non-profits. Her most recent children's book illustration projects include: ALDER (author: Graham Parry) which raised money for Alder Hay Children's Hospital, and HOW I BECAME A HERO (author: MH DeLisle) which raised money for the non-profit Paws Of Honor."
