Suzanna James describes living with a narcissist through the mind games, insidious manipulations that not only stripped her of her own self-worth but had her living with the infidelity and betrayal in their marriage of 19 years. She endured until she had a lightbulb moment. This book is a very personal account of her journey and the lessons learned.

Suzanna James' story highlights the mental abuse she suffered at the hands of a narcissist. Her husband felt he could control anyone if there was something in it for him. He had to have the perfect house, the perfect cars, look like the perfect husband and father.

Then it all started to unravel when his secret affairs came to light.

There had been a number of women in her husband's life from the very beginning of their relationship, and she can no longer live that way. Suzanna hires a private detective, searching once and for all for the truth.

The marriage could not go on, even if it meant having to hurt her children by breaking up her family home. Suzanna did not realise how hard raising a family on her own would be through those teenage years but she is a strong woman, a survivor.

James, Suzanna: - Suzanna James was born in Queensland. Her parents moved to a small town in Victoria in the late fifties andSuzanna was the middle child of three girls. She did not have an easy family life which is one of the reasonsthat family became so important to her. She has always dreamed of having the perfect family she never had(apart from her loving mother), but that was never to be.
