Black, Rebecca: - Rebecca Black is a Tucson-based victim advocate, trauma-informed community leader, and criminal justice professional who has lived in the American Southwest for more than forty years. Deeply rooted in Arizona, she has dedicated her adult life to advocacy, healing, and service-working to create safer, more compassionate systems for survivors of trauma.Rebecca holds a degree in Criminal Justice and is a certified Victim Advocate. She served as Chairperson for 88-CRIME with the Pima County Attorney's Office and has worked for the State of Arizona as well as multiple Tucson-based nonprofit organizations. Her work includes developing and leading trauma-support programs for incarcerated women within the Pima County Jail, while also providing advocacy and recovery services to victims in the community who lacked access to paid care. She later served as Director of Survivor Shield Foundation, a nonprofit focused on survivor protection and education.A passionate voice for women and survivors, Rebecca believes in standing for truth, justice, and dignity-especially for those who have been silenced. Her memoir reflects a lifetime of lived experience and professional insight into trauma, resilience, and healing, offering hope and strength to women navigating their most difficult moments.
