Author Napoleon Thompson is no stranger to this knowledge, engaged to his beloved girlfriend of ten years who he has weathered some storms with in their relationship. Having suffered Stage 1 PTSD from his time in the armed service, Napoleon understands that relationships can go through more trials when one or both of the partners are not in a good place emotionally.


His experiences with his fiancée, coupled with dating and marriage advice from his grandparents (married fifty-five years), power the foundation for his new relationship advice book, The Narrow Path.


Napoleon takes a step-by-step approach toward dating in his book: beginning first with the mental stance one should be in while pursuing others, and progressing into different types of relationships and typical issues to emerge with dating couples.


He stresses most that a person should know him/herself first before entering into a relationship, coming to terms with how God created the person to be so he/she can be comfortable in one's own skin.


Once the relationship begins, Napoleon then dissects common relationship issues that could damage the coupling of a man and woman: poor communication, forgiveness and commitment are among the discussed issues. He a lso devotes time to show the pros and cons of a long-distance relationship and a face-to-face relationship.


What The Narrow Path wants readers to gain most is awareness of ways evil can surface in a relationship that is not firmly placed within God's loving hands. When one knows who he/she is in Christ, and has taken the time to know his/her partner as God does, a relationship can survive and thrive against any odds.
