In 2005 when Civil Partnerships were introduced life improved for gay couples but in the early 1960's when Raymond Morris was twenty and loved a man homosexuality was a criminal offence. Passing off their relationship as friends everything went well until Raymond's lover tragically died after which their association became dramatically revealed. Disinherited by his parents Raymond moves to London where to combat lonliness he becomes embroiled in a life that gives no depth. Concealing his personal life from hs business colleagues deception becomes commonplace convincing Raymond this is the life for which he is destined especially after he meets a promiscuous gay man who offers him part time enjoyment. Being befriended for three years by and understanding widow and her gay son Christopher Raymond faces turmoil as when they inform him they are moving away he accepts he is slowly falling in love with Christopher. To go and live with them would only bring additional problems and mean completely changing his lifestyle but sudden unforseen circumstances arise which force Raymond to make a decision, however months later after two totally unexpected and bizarre events occur Raymond knows thedecision he made was the right and only one for him.

Brian Willis lived most of his life in London. Employed in the National health Service in addition to his medical and scientific work he learnt about the diversities of life from thsoe with whom he had daily contact. At 50 he was appointed a magistrate. His greatest enjoyment is travelling.
