Denn für Bernhard Mandeville ist jeder Mensch ein Schurke, der seine Mitmenschen so behandelt, wie er persönlich selbst nicht behandelt werden möchte. (vgl. Mandeville 1986) Meine Gedanken decken sich da mit denen Mandevilles. Ich denke, dass sich kaum ein Mensch dieser Definition entziehen kann, vor allem nicht in der heutigen Zeit. So spricht dieser Gedanke ungeachtet jeden Leser an, der weiterhin dazu angehalten wird über sich und seine Stellung in Bezug auf die Gesellschaft nachzudenken. Dies war ein Anliegen von Mandeville, was er mit seiner so genannten " Bienenfabel" erreichen wollte. (vgl. Mandeville 1968) Es sind seiner Meinung nach nur ein paar Knittelverse die er 1705 anonym Veröffentlichte, unter dem Titel "Der unzufriedene Bienenstock". Mit diesen hatte er aber einen riesigen Erfolg. In den nachgedruckten Fassungen ergänzte er die Knittelverse um einige Anmerkungen und Essays. Und So entstand die heutige Fassung, in Form eines Buches, "Die Bienenfabel oder Private Laster, öffentliche Vorteile". Es beschreibt den Kapitalismus sehr real und zeigt Vorteile, Bedingungen, Auswirkungen und Nachteile des Kapitalismus auf. Er beschäftigt auch mit dem Gedanken, wie so eine Gesellschaft entstanden ist. Dies ist zur damaligen Zeit, um 1700, ein aufkommende Frage. Seine Antwort ist natürlich durch frühere Denker, wie zum Beispiel Thomas Hobbes und John Locke geprägt, die auch dieser Frage nachgegangen sind. "Die Bienenfabel" regte auch damals schon zu vielen Diskussionen an. Auch noch in der heutigen Zeit bilden sich aufgrund seiner Gedanken zwei Interpretationslager.
