La notion d'Etat et celle de bien commun apparaissent aujourd'hui en constante confrontation du point de vue de leur finalité. Certes, le concept d'Etat naît avec la Modernité alors que celui du bien commun existe déjà dans l'Antiquité. Les rapports qu'ils entretiennent actuellement ne sont toutefois pas sans rappeler les questions éthiques autour de la notion de bonum commune qui se posent depuis la formation de la société publique.
Cet ouvrage invite à reprendre cette discussion dans un cadre pluridisciplinaire (philosophie, histoire, théologie, économie, droit, politique, médecine). Il met l'accent sur les questions philosophiques de l'utilisation de doctrines politiques du bien, de l'engagement social, des droits de l'homme, mais aussi de l'appréciation éthique quant aux modifications génétiques de l'être humain.
Les textes ici exposés constituent une tentative de retrouver un lien substantiel entre Etat et bien commun en proposant aux chercheurs et aux scientifiques d'assumer une responsabilité déontologique, conformément à leur mission au sein de la société.

About The Author

Les responsables de la publication: Dominicain et docteur en théologie, Anto Gavric enseigne à la Faculté de théologie de l'Université de Fribourg et à la Faculté de philosophie à Zagreb (Croatie). Il est notamment auteur de Théologien dans le dialogue social (2006) et Une métaphysique à l'école de Thomas d'Aquin (2006).
Originaire de Pologne, Grzegorz W. Sienkiewicz a étudié l'éthique et la philosophie politique à l'Université de Fribourg, où il rédige actuellement une thèse de doctorat sur la théorie sociale de l'individu chez Adam Schaff. Il poursuit également ses recherches dans le domaine de l'éthique des relations publiques.
