Ziel der vorliegenden Einführung ist es, den Text der "Kritik der reinen Vernunft" zu erschlie en und dabei auch unterschiedliche Interpretationsrichtungen und -haltungen zu Wort kommen zu lassen, die aber in der Auffassung übereinkommen, da dieses epochemachende Werk Kants Grundlegung einer kritischen Metaphysik sei - was vielen bis heute nicht zu Bewu tsein gekommen zu sein scheint und wegen dessen undogmatischem Charakter auch eine Herausforderung bleibt. Obgleich die "Kritik der reinen Vernunft" nicht durchgängig als Grundlegung einer kritischen Metaphysik bedacht und anerkannt wird, entspricht diese Auslegung den ureigenen Intentionen Kants, die durch die verwickelte Interpretationsgeschichte aus dem Blickfeld gerückt waren und danach also neu entdeckt werden mu ten. Auch um dieses Zieles willen beschränken sich die meisten Beiträge nicht auf die jeweils zu kommentierenden Passagen, sondern weisen immer wieder auf Zusammenhänge im Gesamttext der Kritik der reinen Vernunft, auf Anknüpfungspunkte in früheren und späteren Werken Kants, in seinen Briefen, im handschriftlichen Nachla und überdies bei seinen Zeitgenossen und in der älteren und neueren Philosophiegeschichte. About The Author

Norbert Fischer's work on Kant includes (with Dieter Hattrup) Metaphysik aus dem Anspruch des Anderen: Kant und Levinas (Schöningh, 1999); Kants Metaphysik und Religionsphilosophie (Meiner, 2004); Kants Grundlegung einer kritischen Metaphysik (Meiner, 2010); and (as coeditor) Die Gottesfrage in der Philosophie Immanuel Kants (Herder, 2010). He studied philosophy, theology, and German philology at the universities of Mainz and Freiburg im Breisgau and earned his Ph.D. and Habilitation in philosophy. He was Professor of Philosophy at Mainz (1985-88), Trier (1989-90), Paderborn (1991-95) and Eichstatt (1995-2013). His research interests include Plato, Augustine, Kant, Heidegger, and Levinas; philosophical theology; metaphysics; the foundations of practical philosophy; and philosophy of religion.
