Among his works on labor and politics are Class, Race, and Labor (Oxford University Press), Race, Class and Political Consciousness (Schenkman Publishers), and Taking State Power (Harper & Row Publishers). He has also co-authored several volumes including Allende, His Exit, and Our Times and Whither Black Studies. John Leggett went to Delano and joined the farm worker union movement in September 1965. He has backed the UFW and its forerunners through picket, boycott, and fund raising work for over 25 years. He looks forward to the next wave of labor organizing among the world's farm worker populations. He wishes the farm workers owned the fields they cultivate.
