English summary: At least since the time of Descartes, an inquiry into human self-consciousness has been one of the major topics in philosophy. In the last decade, influenced by neuroscientific approaches, philosophers developed naturalistic theories of human subjectivity, with the aim to explain the constitution of human self-consciousness. This study compares these naturalistic theories (e.g. Antonio Damasio, Thomas Metzinger) with analytic approaches and with idealistic interpretations of self-consciousness. Drawing on the work of Robert Nozick and Johann Gottlieb Fichte, the author argues that human self-consciousness cannot be explained in naturalistic terms. Instead, it is a spontaneous phenomenon. Finally, the authors present an original performative interpretation of self-consciousness. German text. German description: Die Untersuchung der Bedeutung und der Konstitution von menschlichem Selbstbewusstsein zahlt zu den zentralen Aufgabenstellungen der Philosophie. In den letzten Jahren wurden im Zusammenhang mit Erkenntnissen neurowissenschaftlicher Untersuchungen von menschlichem Bewusstsein naturalistische Theorien entwickelt, welche diese Aufgabenstellungen zu losen beanspruchen. Das vorliegende Buch reagiert auf diese Situation, indem naturalistische Theorien menschlicher Subjektivitat (Th. Metzinger, A. Damasio) systematisch untersucht und mit analytischen Interpretationen sowie idealistischen Theorien in Beziehung gesetzt werden. Dabei ergibt sich ein uberraschendes Bild: So haben R. Nozick und J. G. Fichte Argumente entwickelt, die zeigen, dass das Erklarungsmodell, welches den naturalistischen Theorien zugrunde liegt, aus prinzipiellen Grunden keine vollstandige Erklarung von Selbstbewusstsein ermoglicht. Im Anschluss an Uberlegungen von Nozick und J. Austin entwickelt der Autor in kritischer Auseinandersetzung mit den naturalistischen Theorien eine performative Interpretation von Subjektivitat. Selbstbewusstsein stellt demnach ein performatives Phanomen dar, das sich spontan vollzieht.
