The Ethics is a philosophical treatise written by Benedict de Spinoza, a Dutch philosopher of the 17th century. The book is divided into five parts, each exploring different aspects of Spinoza's philosophy. In Part I, Spinoza introduces his concept of God or nature, which he believes is the only substance in the universe.
