El confinamiento nos devolvió a la cueva arquetípica, la de Altamira, la de la República de Platón donde se crearon las primeras imágenes, ya fuera para expresar el mundo o para enmascarar la realidad. Geandy Pavón (Las Tunas, 1974), fotógrafo y pintor, e Imara López (La Habana, 1979), escenógrafa y modelo, recrearon en la serie titulada Cuarentena: 40 días & 40 noches algunos de los mitos con más tradición iconográfica para intentar darle un nuevo sentido a nuestro tiempo que tiene, a la vez, el sabor de lo apocalíptico y de un nuevo comenzar. Este libro no solo incluye las cuarenta fotos de la serie sino que se complementa con las Entelequias, donde Pavón delinea en veinte dibujos a lápiz carbón motivos que estaban latentes en sus fotografías. Las imágenes van acompañadas por textos de Jorge Brioso y una conversación entre el ensayista y el fotógrafo.

Pavón, Geandy: - Geandy Pavón es un artista multidisciplinario que explora los males que afectan a la sociedad global. Su trabajo ha recibido elogios y críticas positivas de figuras estimadas como Holland Cotter (The New York Times) y Mark Jenkins (The Washington Post). Pavón, que estudió en la Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas de La Habana, recibió la Beca Cintas en Artes Visuales 2021-2022. Su trabajo ha aparecido en exposiciones individuales y colectivas como Caribbean: Crossroads of the World, y se ha exhibido en The Studio Museum of Harlem y PAMM; la X Bienal de Expedientes en El Museo del Barrio; el Espacio Annenberg para la Fotografía como parte de Pacific Time LA/LA; y el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de la USF en Tampa, Florida.
