About The Book

Im Rahmen meiner Magisterarbeit habe ich eine Ausstellung konzipiert und realisiert, die sich über das Mittel Selbstporträt, vielseitig und multimedial interpretiert, definieren lä t. Das äu ere Thema der Exposition, hier exhibition, ist das Ausstellen von Bildern. Ich zeige Abbildungen meines Gesichtes, der Bildausschnitt beschränkt sich weitgehend auf Augen, Nase und Mund ohne schmückende Elemente oder mich in irgend einer Art und Weise kennzeichnende Attribute. Durch den Frontalblick direkt in die Kamera sind alle Fotos einerseits komplett distanzlos und subjektiv, zum anderen werde ich versuchen, durch Nachbearbeitung am Computer, die multimediale Präsentation sowie die Mittel der Reihung und des Rasters den Versuch unternehmen, Distanz zu mir, meinem Ich und der mich umgebenden Umwelt aufzubauen. Realität und Medienrealität sollen zu einer eigenen Dimension im Ausstellungsraum verschmelzen. Es geht hierbei unter anderem um die Konfrontation meiner selbst mit mir persönlich, sowie um die Gegenüberstellung von mir und meiner Umwelt. Wie reagiere ich auf so eine Masse von mir; wie reagieren die Menschen um mich herum auf solch einen gehäuft auftretenden Marcus? Die Ausstellung wird von Ambivalenzen in mir und beim Betrachter regiert. Diese gilt es, im Proze der Beobachtung vor, während und nach der Ausstellung zu fixieren und auszuwerten. Das ist, neben der konkreten verbalen und visuellen Vorstellung der Ausstellungsstücke, der Inhalt meiner Magisterarbeit. Ich nenne diese exhibition eine systematische Dekonstruktion meines Selbst. Systematisch erscheint sie mir aufgrund der Regelmä igkeit der Fotos und der dadurch erreichten Kontinuität und Dichte. Als dekonstruktivistisch bezeichne ich die Aufsplittung meines Selbst in viele Einzelelemente. Ich zeige dem Betrachter etwas sehr Intimes. So lasse ich sowohl die Kamera als auch den Betrachter näher als fünfzig Zentimeter an mich heran, was einem Durchbrechen des Intimabstandes gleich kommt, in welchen jeder
