France Images & Messages, published in 2016, is a collection of color photographs taken in France between 1998 and 2015.
Half the photographs in this book are digital images made with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W40 and the internal cameras in the iPhone 3GS and 5C as well as images made with the low-resolution (300K Pixel) built-in camera in a Palm Zire 71 Personal Digital Assistant. The other images were taken with film cameras: a Nikon FE single-lens reflex camera equipped with interchangeable lenses from 28mm to 500mm, the Olympus Infinity Stylus compact and the Konica Revio Z2 using the Advanced Photo System (APS) cartridges.
The collection is composed of seven groups of illustrations: Signs, Graffiti, Streets, Artists, Windows and Doors, Décollages and Portraits. The volume also includes a polyptych and an envoi.
The photographs in
France Images & Messages portray a France that is ambiguous, absurd and ephemeral-and often wistful and humorous.
English translations and annotations are included in an appendix.
FRANÇAIS France Images & Messages est un recueil de photographies couleur prises en France entre 1998 et 2015.
La moitié des photographies de ce livre sont des images numériques réalisées avec un Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W40 et les appareils photo internes des iPhone 3GS et 5C ainsi que des images prises avec l'appareil photo intégré de basse résolution (300 000 pixels) dans un Assistant numérique personnel Palm Zire 71. Les autres images ont été prises avec des appareils argentiques: un Nikon FE équipé d'objectifs interchangeables de 28mm à 500mm, le Olympus μ [mju]-1 compact et le Konica Revio Z2 qui utilisaient les cartouches APS (Advanced Photo System).

FRANÇAIS Ronald W. Kenyon a exposé ses oeuvres à la Galerie Noir-et-Blanc à Paris en Novembre 1976, au 5e Salon d'Art Photographique à Rambouillet, en 1977, et l'exposition Camera à Versailles, en Janvier 1978. Son oeuvre a reçu le Grand Prix de la Société Artistique de Fontenay-le-Fleury, en 1977. En Janvier 1980, Ronald W. Kenyon était photographe en chef pour un projet visant à documenter l'architecture traditionnelle dans la province d'Asir, Arabie Saoudite. Soixante-cinq tirages étaient exposée au 1er Symposium International sur l'Architecture Islamique et de l'Urbanisme à l'Université du Roi Fayçal à Dammam. Les photographies de Ronald W. Kenyon ont été utilisées pour illustrer des livres et pochettes d'albums, des calendriers et des cartes postales. ENGLISH Ronald W. Kenyon participated in a three-person show at the Galerie Noir-et-Blanc in Paris in November 1976, the 5th Salon d'Art Photographique in Rambouillet, France in 1977, and the Exposition "Camera" in Versailles, France, in January 1978. His photography was awarded the Grand Prix by the Société Artistique of Fontenay-le-Fleury, France, in 1977. In January 1980 Ronald W. Kenyon was chief photographer for a project to document traditional architecture in Asir Province, Saudi Arabia. Sixty-five of his photographs were exhibited at the 1st International Symposium on Islamic Architecture and Urbanism at King Faisal University in Dammam. Ronald W. Kenyon's photographs have also been utilized for book and albums covers, calendar illustrations and post cards.
