La Fotografía Policial Operativa, es el ámbito de la fotografía realizada en el lugar donde se ha perpetrado un delito o crimen, el presente libro está dividido en dos bloques de contenidos bien diferenciados:

Un primer bloque referido a los conceptos básicos y fundamentales de la fotografía, se explican los principios básicos de la luz, teoría del color, el funcionamiento de la cámara y sus elementos, los sensores, etc.

Todo el contenido se expone de forma clara con explicaciones básicas, sin entrar en profundidad en cada uno de los temas, dado que no es la finalidad ni el objetivo en este libro. Se abarcan campos muy específicos como el de la física (para la luz y el color), biología (para el ojo humano), electrónica (para la cámara o el sensor fotográfico.

El segundo bloque trata de las aplicaciones que la fotografía tiene en la investigación policial. La fotografía de la escena del delito/crimen, la fotografía de huellas dactilares, el reportaje como soporte gráfico a la Inspección Ocular Técnico Policial (IOTP), fotografía de armas, impactos, cadáveres...

El principal objetivo es dejar constancia visual del delito que ha sucedido, el entorno, así como en qué circunstancias ha sucedido. Por otro lado, reflejar y hacer visibles todos aquellos detalles, objetos, marcas, huellas u otros indicios que posteriormente puedan servir para la identificación del autor y demostrar su participación.

El libro pretende aportar, proporcionar y trasladar una serie de conocimientos adquiridos a través del estudio, el trabajo y la experiencia en este campo adquirida por el autor durante los años trabajados en equipos de policía científica.

Por lo tanto, va dirigido a todas las personas que de una manera u otra están relacionadas por su trabajo o bien les interesa sumergirse en este fascinante mundo de la investigación policial: agentes policiales, criminólogos, forenses entre otros.
