Cerkes Karadag born in Kagizman, Kars. He graduated Agrı Naci Gökçe High School, Gazi Education Institute Painting Department and Gazi University Faculty of Education Graphic Department. He served in the Ministry of Culture, Publications Department and Cinema Department. He participated in national and international photo contests and biennales, his photographs received prizes. In 2000 the Czech Republic State Honor Medal was awarded the title of "IFSAK photographer of the year" in the 2004 art season. He wrote essays and articles on photography and contemporary photography in newspapers and magazines. He photographed the cities of Prague, Budapest, Mersin / Mut, Gaziantep, Ankara, Bursa, and Nicosia. His books and photographs were the subjects of many Turkish poets, writers, painters and ceramicists. He gave lessons in Hacettepe, Suleyman Demirel, Yeditepe, Near East, Dogus University and Ankara Maturation Institute. He still continues to work at his studio in Istanbul and teaches at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Visual Communication Design at Isik University and Yeditepe University.
