The Art Collection Deutsche Börse is one of the most important collections of contemporary photography in Europe and now comprises over 1,800 works by roughly 120 international artists. In 2019, the Art Collection Deutsche Börse will celebrate its twentieth anniversary. The focus of the collection is on a variety of key themes in contemporary photography since the mid-twentieth century. Represented in the collection are positions already considered classics as well as works by younger artists. Artistic projects and conceptual works are complemented by comprehensive groups of works by photojournalists. Evans Walker: - Walker Evans (1903-1975)was an American Photographer and Photojournalist best known for his work for the Farm Security Administration (FSA) documenting the effects of the Great Depression. Many of his works are in the permanent collections of museums and have been the subject of retrospectives at such institutions as the Metropolitan Museum of Art or George Eastman Museum.

Mandel: - Mike Mandel (b.1950) is an American conceptual artist and photographer. According to his artist profile, his work "questions the meaning of photographic imagery within popular culture and draws from snapshots, advertising, news photographs, and public and corporate archives." Most of the publications Mandel has been involved with have been self-published: his own, his early conceptual collaborations with Larry Sultan, and his later collaborations with Chantal Zakari. He is best known for Evidence (1977), a book of found photographs he and Sultan assembled, regarded as "one of the most influential photography titles of the past 50 years"; and for his Baseball Photographer Trading Cards (1975), a set of baseball cards with 134 different photographers and curators posing as ball players. Mandel has had a solo exhibition at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and his work is in the permanent collections of major institutions.
Meiselas Susan: - Susan Meiselas (b.1948) is an American documentary photographer. She has been associated with Magnum Photos since 1976 and been a full member since 1980. She is best known for her 1970s photographs of two separate subjects: war-torn Nicaragua and American carnival strippers. Meiselas has published several books of her own photographs and has edited and contributed to others. Her works have been published in newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, The Times, Time, GEO and Paris Match. She received the Robert Capa Gold Medal in 1979 and was named a MacArthur Fellow in 1992. In 2006, she was awarded The Royal Photographic Society's Centenary Medal and Honorary Fellowship.

Parks Gordon: - Gordon Parks (1912-2006) was an American photographer, musician, writer and film director, who became prominent in U.S. documentary photojournalism in the 1940s through 1970s--particularly in issues of civil rights, poverty and African-Americans--and in glamour photography. He is best remembered for his iconic photos of poor Americans during the 1940s (taken for a federal government project), for his photographic essays for Life magazine, and as the director of the 1971 film Shaft. Parks also was an author, poet and composer.
