The Night Never Sleeps is a dark and intense collection of poetry, brings together author Brain M. Spradlin's favorite poems from his past with a voluminous amount of recent work. Filled with despair and soul-searching, both for the elements that have passed him by and for the desire to find meaning and relevance, this collection visits recurring themes of solitude, darkness, relationships, and distrust. In the selection "Lament" Spradlin writes about the darkness: / night shines a deadly smile at me / let the sinners roam and flee / it's in this world that i relate / to things that i've yet to create / and so the march goes on and on / as i attempt to block the sun / because brightness never has been me / let me lament to let things be. / let be. / An avid poet and songwriter for more than twenty years, Spradlin penned the bulk of the poems in the hushed cold of winter. Like the season they were written in, the feelings are sometimes frigid, but also thoughtful and provocative. In The Night Never Sleeps, Spradlin shares the demons he has conquered and the ones he has yet to vanquish.

Brian M. Spradlin was born July 14, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois. The son of a father who is also a poet, Spradlin has been writing poetry and lyrics for more than twenty years. The Night Never Sleeps is brings together Spradlin's favorite poems from his past with a large amount of material specifically written for this collection.
