The Pricke of Conscience, also known as Stimulus Conscientiae, is a medieval poem written by Richard Rolle, a hermit and mystic from Northumbria, England. The poem is a religious work that explores the themes of sin, redemption, and the afterlife. It is written in Middle English and is divided into seven parts, each of which focuses on a different aspect of Christian theology. The poem begins with an examination of the nature of sin and its consequences, before moving on to discuss the nature of God and the importance of repentance.
