Gleichzeitig wird das Bild einer heilen Welt vermittelt, huldigen Staat und Einwohner dem "Gro en Führer" Kim Il Sung (verstorben 1994) und seinem Sohn, dem "Geliebten Führer" Kim Jong Il, wie Gottheiten. Schrill sind die Aufmärsche, bis zu 20 Meter hoch die Statuen, beängstigend präzise die Massengymnastik. Die Demokratische Volksrepublik scheint aus Zeit und Raum gefallen zu sein. Ein toter Präsident, einzigartig in der Weltgeschichte, und sein prunksüchtiger, machtbesessener Sohn stehen über einem Volk von knapp 20 Millionen Menschen. Wie funktioniert die einzige kommunistische Dynastie? Auf welcher Grundlage basiert sie? Viele Fragen stellen sich, bei der Betrachtung Nordkoreas.
