Dr. Lohia (23 March 1910-12 October 1967), was the leader of the Socialist Party of India who advocated socialism as the solution of all ills of the suffering humanity. He also dealt with social, economic and political problems, depicting his vision of a new world. He said that the system of caste and subjection of women must go away at once, and "Socialism should act more powerfully with regard to issues of caste and in relation to woman."
The present book is not only a detailed study on the career of the great Indian political thinker, Dr. Lohia but also a comprehensive study of many national and international happenings, aptly written and documented in 13 chapters. Dr. Chandra Deo Prasad (b. at Chatra, Jharkhand in 1940), is Gold Medalist (M.A. Political Science); M.A. (History) and Ph.D. from Magadh University. He has taught as HoD and University Professor in several colleges, including Ranchi College, Kisan College, Mohsarai, H.D. Jain College, Ara and Gaya College at postgraduate level in the Department of Political Science. He has also worked as Dean of Social Science in Magadh University.
Under the able guidance of Dr. Prasad as Director and HoD, more than 51 Ph.D. degrees were awarded in addition to 2 D.Litt. degrees to successful students and researchers. His book Unani Rajnitik Vicharak (1971: Hindi) has been acclaimed as a rich contribution on the political philosophy of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle.
