Das jeweilige Verständnis von Gottes Liebe, von seiner Treue, seiner Allmacht und seiner Freiheit ist bedingt durch das Verständnis der Inkarnation. Deren Deutung und vor allem die Weise, in der die Autoren Jesus Christus als wahren Gott und wahren Menschen fassen, sind gebunden an bestimmte anthropologische Überzeugungen. Die Anthropologie und vor allem die jeweilige Sündenlehre der drei protestantischen Klassiker sind in der Interpretation von Anne Käfer entscheidend für ihre Verhältnisbestimmung von Menschwerdung und (Menschen-)Schöpfung Gottes. Insbesondere an der unterschiedlichen Beschreibung von Sünde und menschlicher Freiheit im Gegenüber zum dreieinigen Gott wird die grundsätzliche Differenz zwischen der lutherischen Position und den beiden reformierten Positionen deutlich, die das Thema Inkarnation und Schöpfung prägt.
