O termo mal-estar � bem reconhecido no per�odo da modernidade, pois podemos afirmar que o homem moderno � aquele que passa a conhecer a ang�stia de um modo que nunca antes a humanidade havia experienciado. N�o que as emo��es n�o estivessem presentes em outros per�odos hist�ricos e em outras civiliza��es, sempre houve a ira e a melancolia. Entretanto, � na modernidade que podemos contextualizar o surgimento da ang�stia como um mal-estar sem refer�ncia, diante da inven��o de uma subjetividade idealista e imanentista, a qual, por ser criada, n�o � assimilada como natural. Por ser antinatural, tal subjetividade � assimilada e acreditada como existente, mas vazia, deslocada, sem refer�ncia clara, pois a pr�pria ontologia humana perde seus referenciais milenares e acaba por autorreferenciar-se no corpo, no indiv�duo, sendo incorporada uma interioridade habitada por um sujeito. N�o se trata de um ente metaf�sico propriamente dito, mas muito mais uma experi�ncia privada que cada indiv�duo passa a acreditar e autorreferenciar-se a partir de suas rela��es com os outros indiv�duos.

Aqui iremos explanar de forma direta o que � a crise desta experi�ncia como o mal-estar tipicamente moderno, e quais as rela��es do conhecimento psicol�gico com estas transforma��es.

Costa, Marcelo: - Descobriu por vocação a arte que é ensinar ao próximo ao trabalhar como professor universitário em curso de psicologia. Formado psicólogo e mestre em psicologia, também é formador certificado pelo IEFP em Portugal, tendo ampla experiência na área clínica da psicologia, sendo especialista em saúde mental, bem como sólida experiência como professor universitário e em pós-graduações. Teve também diversas e variadas experiências, como ter trabalhado na área tecnológica como treinador avançado de Inteligência Artificial, bem como já ter sido gestor comercial na indústria do café.
