Die Uberlegungen, die Bion v. a. in seinem Hauptwerk "Erfahrungen in Gruppen" ansteUt, sind oft schwerverstandlich. Etwas weniger verwirrend sind die Texte, wenn man sie als aufeinanderfolgende Versuche Bions betrachtet, seine Erfahrungen in Gruppen begrifflich zu fassen (vgl. Sherwood 1964, S. 114). In einer 1. Formulierung, die er in den ersten beiden Papieren seiner Schrift versucht (Bion 1971, S. 20-42)*, geht es Bion darum, die Prozesse in Gruppen mit den Begriffen "Bediirfnisse der Individuen", "Gruppenmentalitat" und "Gruppen- kultur" zu erfassen (vgl. Abschn. I dieser Arbeit). Der 2., nach Sherwoods Auffassung wichtigste, Formulierungsversuch ist in den Papieren 3-7 enthalten, in denen Bion seine Theorie der Grundannabmengruppe entwickelt (S. 42-101). In einem 3. Anlauf versucht Bion schlieBlich, seine Theorie der Grundannahmen in Gruppen zu verkniipfen mit theoretischen Vorstellungen von S. Freud und M. Klein. Diese Oberlegungen sind in dem Papier iiber Gruppendynamik enthalten (S. 102-141). Ich bin mit Sherwood der Auffassung, daB der 2. Formulierungsversuch Bions der ausgereifteste ist. 1m Gegensatz zu ihm meine ich allerdings, daB der 3. Versuch mehr ist als ein auBerliches Bemiihen Bions, seine Erfahrungen mit Konzepten der psychoanalytischen Theorie zu verkniipfen (Sherwood 1964, S. 122). Gerade seine Ausfiihrungen iiber die Ahnlichkeit bestimmter Phiinomene in stark regredierten Gruppen mit friihkindlichen psychischen Ablaufen, wie sie M. Klein beschreibt, soUten sorgfiiltig analysiert und nachgepriift werden.
