Wir erleben seit einiger Zeit eine Renaissance des Körpers. Nachdem der Körper zunächst lediglich in einigen Therapie- und Selbsterfah- rungszirkeln gro e Bedeutung erlangt hatte, ist heute "die Wiederkehr des Körpers" nicht nur in der Kunst, in der Literatur, im Film und im Theater festzustellen, auch in den Wissenschaften vollzieht sich eine "emotionale Wende". Die Zahl der Buchpublikationen und Artikel, die sich mit dem Körper beschäftigen, ist sprunghaft angestiegen, der Themenbereich dabei ist sehr facettenreich. Die Hinwendung zum Körper, die fast zu einem Modetrend geworden ist, hat sicherlich ihre Wurzeln in der gesellschaftlichen, politischen, sozialen und wissen- schaftlichen Situation der letzten Jahre und ihrer Entwicklung. Ich will an dieser Stelle mein Motiv für die Herausgabe dieses Buches zum Körpererleben aussprechen: Es ist mein Interesse an einer ganzheitlichen psychosomatischen Medizin, die den Mensch als Sub- jekt ernst nimmt, patientenzentriert ist und auf Allmachtsansprüch- auch im psychosozialen Gewande - verzichtet. Dem Körpererleben des Menschen, das stets subjektiv ist, wird immer noch nicht die Bedeutung beigemessen, die ihm zukommt. Im heutigen iatrotechnischen Medizin- system spielt das Körpererleben nur eine marginale Rolle; die Medizin stützt sich auf organische Befunde und sucht den Menschen gleich einem Gerät zu reparieren. Dies führt zwar in vielen Fällen zum Erfolg, geht aber auch in vielen Fällen an der Wirklichkeit des Menschen vorbei.
