Dieses Buch erkl�rt mithilfe der psychologischen Forschungserkenntnisse zum Thema Macht, warum menschliche Organisationen immer wieder in die Irre gehen. Es beantwortet dabei drei wesentliche Fragen: Wer gelangt �berhaupt in Machtpositionen und was hilft dabei? Wie verhalten und ver�ndern sich Menschen in Machtpositionen? Was bringt Menschen in solchen Positionen dazu, andere zu missbrauchen? Um all das erkl�ren und verstehen zu k�nnen, m�ssen wir uns ansehen, wie Menschen in Machtverh�ltnissen miteinander umgehen und wie sie einander zu dominieren suchen. Wir m�ssen untersuchen, wie menschliche Gruppen funktionieren, wie Prestige und Status, Dominanz und Unterwerfung, Kooperation und Wettbewerb im t�glichen Miteinander zusammenspielen. Zentrale These dieses Buches ist, dass es menschlichen Gesellschaften noch nicht gelingt, diejenigen von der Macht fernzuhalten, die dort mehr Schaden als Nutzen anrichten und Organisationen so zu gestalten, dass dieser Schaden zumindest begrenzt werden kann.
