In einer Vielzahl vor Forschungen sind bis heute Entstehung und Auswir- kung von Geschlechterrollen, GeschlechtsidentiHit und Geschlechtsunterschie- den untersucht worden. Trotz der unterschiedlichen methodischen und theo- retischen Ansatze gilt es als gesichert, daf1 das Konzept der Mannlichkeit - Weiblichkeit nicht nur mit anderen zentralen Problemgebieten wie z.B. der "psychischen Gesundheit" eng zusammenhangt, sondern z.T. selbst ein konsti- tuierendes Element solcher Konzepte ist. Es ist unbestritten, daf1 Resultate dieser Art maBgeblich durch verschiedene Sozialisationsmuster flir Jungen und Madchen bewirkt werden. Es ist empirisch einigermaBen belegt, daf1 die herkommlichen Sozialisationsmuster die Hand- lungs- und Ausdrucksmoglichkeiten erheblich einschranken; dies gilt in beson- derem Maf1e flir Frauen. Mit solchen Ansatzen einhergehend wird in neuerer Zeit ein Rollenwechsel bzw. eine Rollenveranderung in den Familien konsta- tiert. Dies grlindet sich besonders auf zwei Aspekte der weiblichen Rolle: der kleiner werdende Anteil der Mutterrolle im Leben der Frauen und die zuneh- mend weibliche Berufstatigkeit. Unabhangig von der expandierende Literatur zu diesem Themenbereich ist der Rollenbegriff in seinen einzelnen Aspekten weitgehend deskriptiv verwendet worden. In der voriiegenden Arbeit soli versucht werden, Begriff und Konzept der Geschlechtsidentitat naher und eingehender zu untersuchen. Die Geschlechts- identitiit wird dabei als eine wesentliche Grundlage des Rollenverhaltens ange- sehen. Es wird zunachst die herkommliche Zuweisung von (phanotypischem) Geschlecht und Geschlechtsidentitat in Frage gestellt. Am Beispiel bestimmter Aspekte des explorativen Verhaltens (Empfindungssuche) wird die Nichtiiber- einstimmung dieses bisher unbestrittenen Sachverhaltes aufgewiesen. Wie zu zeigen sein wird, geht Geschlechtsidentitat inhaltlich weitgehend mit dem Kon- zept der Aktivitat zusammen.
