About The Book

Die hier berichtete U ntersuchung entstand im Rahmen eines mit Mitteln der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft gefOrderten Projektes "Der EinfluB von Dauer und Variabilitat der Systemresponsezeiten auf psychophysiologische Beanspruchung und Leistung bei Bildschirmaufgaben" (Az. BO 554/2-1). Ohne diesen Rahmen ware die Durchfiihrung des vorgelegten Experimentes in einem solchen U mfang nicht moglich gewesen. An dieser Stelle mochte ich mich bei allen Projektmitarbeitern und Kol- legen, die bei Planung, Durchfiihrung und Auswertung dieses Experimentes behilflich waren, sehr herzlich bedanken, insbesondere bei den Wuppertaler Kollegen Prof. Dr. Wolfram Boucsein, Dr. Werner Kuhmann und Dr. Flo- rian Schafer. Dr. Cristoph Wolk habe ich fiir seine Unterstiitzung bei der physiologischen Datenaufnahme zu danken, Dipl.-Psych. Norbert Schnett- berg fiir seine fortwahrende Unterstiitzung wahrend des gesamten Projektes. Prof. Dr. Albrecht Iseler und Prof. Dr. Werner Tack lasen aufmerk- sam ein vorlaufiges Manuskript dieser Arbeit. Ihre konstruktiven VorschHige habe ich zum groBten Teil in dieser Endfassung beriicksichtigt.
