Following an introduction that includes the history and evolution of the MMPI instruments and therapeutic assessment, readers will be guided through the steps of therapeutic assessment and feedback, and an exploration of the MMPI-3 scales. These include Validity Scales, Higher-Order Scales, Restructured Clinical Scales, Specific Problem Scales that include Somatic/Cognitive Scales, Internalizing Scales, Externalizing Scales, and Interpersonal Scales, and the Personality Psychopathology-Five Scales. Each scale is interpretively described for feedback and descriptive purposes for patients. By focusing on clients' subjective experiences, the book guides and facilitates therapeutic engagement. The authors provide case studies to clearly illustrate the updated psychometric standard for psychological assessment.

Dr. Richard W. Levak has co-authored seven books on the MMPI/MMPI-2 and is a Fellow of the San Diego Psychological Association, the Society for Personality Assessment, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Assessment Psychology.

Dr. Alan F. Friedman is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in full-time independent practice in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago. He is also a Fellow in the Society for Personality Assessment.

Dr. Yossef S. Ben-Porath is an Emeritus Professor of Psychological Sciences at Kent State University, USA. He has been involved extensively in MMPI research for the past 40 years and is a co-developer of the MMPI-3.
