Die kognitionspsychologische Analyse der Rolle, die Wissen bei der Einleitung und Regulation von Handlungsprozessen spielt, ist allerdings weit weniger trivial. Nicht nur, daB man "W'JSsen" so schlecht beobachten kann, Wissen und Handeln sind auch voneinander abhangig. Handeln basiert auf WlSSen, Handeln verandert aber auch WlSSen. Dies gilt insbesondere fur Handlungsprozesse in komplizierten, unlibersichtlichen und schlecht struktu- rierten Situationen, in denen man Iangst nicht alles weill, was man fur eine optimale Handlungsplanung eigentlich wissen mUBte. In solchen Situationen wird Wissenserwerb wichtig: Wte kann ich mir das Wissen verschaffen, das mir zur Erreichung meiner Handlungsziele feh1t? Die vorliegende Arbeit beschaftigt sich mit der Untersuchung solcher WlSSenserwerbsprozesse beim Umgang mit komplexen, dynamischen Pro- blemstellungen. Dabei werden besonders jene Formen des Wissenserwerbs in den Vordergrund der Betrachtung geriickt, die auf der aktiven Auseinander- setzung mit dem in Frage stehenden Problem beruhen. Es geht also weniger um solche Formen des Wissenserwerbs, die aus der retlexiven Analyse, der gedanklichen Durchdringung von Handbiichern, Instruktionen oder sonsti- gem sprachlichen Material entstehen. Dem liegt die Annabme zugrunde, daB Wissenserwerb beim Handeln, WlSSenserwerb durch das Handeln, eine sehr haufige, fur den Menschen typische Form des Lemens ist. Obwohl natiirlich die Psychologie des Lemens eine lange Tradition hat, zahlt das Studium von Wissenserwerb beim Umgang mit komplexen Proble- men erstaunllcherweise erst seit kiirzerer Zeit zu den anerkannten For- schungsthemen der kognitiv orientierten Psychologie.
