The Gospel of Pseudo Matthew is a religious text that is believed to have been written in the 7th century AD. It is an apocryphal gospel, which means that it is not part of the official canon of the Bible. The author is unknown, hence the name ""Pseudo Matthew"". The text claims to be a version of the Gospel of Matthew, but it contains many elements that are not found in the canonical Gospel. For example, it includes stories about the childhood of Jesus, such as his encounter with dragons and his ability to speak as an infant. The Gospel of Pseudo Matthew also contains a detailed account of the nativity of Jesus, including the journey of the Magi and the massacre of the innocents by King Herod. It also includes a version of the Lord's Prayer that is slightly different from the one in the canonical Gospel of Matthew. The text was popular in the Middle Ages and was often used in religious art and literature. It is considered an important example of medieval Christian literature and provides insight into the beliefs and practices of Christians during that time period.After these things, her nine months being fulfilled, Anna brought forth a daughter, and called her Mary. And having weaned her in her third year, Joachim, and Anna his wife, went together to the temple of the Lord to offer sacrifices to God, and placed the infant, Mary by name, in the community of virgins, in which the virgins remained day and night praising God. And when she was put down before the doors of the temple, she went up the fifteen steps (1) so swiftly, that she did not look back at all; nor did she, as children are wont to do, seek for her parents.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
