Dans Au milieu des vitraux de l'Apocalypse, Paul Claudel propose une lecture suivie du livre biblique de l'Apocalypse a travers une forme dialogu�e: un p�re "cause avec sa fille" autour d'un "grand livre ouvert" et d'une promenade imaginaire "au milieu" d'une cath�drale, comme devant des vitraux. L'ouvrage insiste d'embl�e sur une approche qui n'est pas d'abord celle d'un "d�chiffrage" scolaire, mais d'une circulation dans le texte, compar�e � la visite d'un �difice liturgique, ou les series d'images s'entrecoupent (sceaux, trompettes, visions), comme des perspectives coup�es par "la ligne des piliers". Le commentaire avance par d�veloppements successifs nourris de citations et de renvois a l'Ecriture (notamment Isa�e et Ezechiel a propos de Tyr, Babylone, Lucifer), avec un effort constant pour relier les figures apocalyptiques a un r�seau de motifs bibliques r�currents. L'ouvrage aborde ainsi des themes centraux explicitement traites dans le texte: la symbolique de la "Fin du Monde" et du temps, la place des catastrophes dans l'histoire, la chute de Lucifer, l'image de Babylone, ou encore la question des signes et des chiffres (dont le nombre 666) dans une r�flexion sur la "valeur", l'�change et la monnaie.
