Beloved reader, when the Master Jesus Christ stood in the porch of Solomon and the religious authorities took up stones to stone Him, He did not retreat into philosophy. He retreated into the scripture. He did not soften the offence. He sharpened it. He pointed them to a verse they had read a thousand times and never seen - a verse that, once seen, can never be unseen.

That verse is Psalm 82:6: I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. The Lord rested His entire defence upon those nine English words and concluded with a sentence that has thundered down through the centuries: the scripture cannot be broken.

This little book is an apologetic. It is not a speculation. It is not a flight of mystical fancy. It is a courtroom defence built upon the threefold witness of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek - the languages in which the Living God chose to seal His word - and upon the unbroken testimony of the Old and New Testaments.

If the scripture cannot be broken, then Psalm 82:6 cannot be broken. If the Lord Jesus said Ye are gods, then somebody is being called gods, and that somebody is identified plainly in the same breath: them unto whom the word of God came. The argument is not mine. The argument is His. I am only the witness who points to it.

Let every reader come to this book as the Bereans of Acts 17:11 came - searching the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. The verdict will not be mine to give. The verdict will be yours, rendered before the Judge of all the earth, who has spoken once and twice, and whose word standeth for ever.

Yours in the unbroken word,

Dr. BenyPowerful
