But the greatest agony of His crucifixion was not the nails in His hands and feet, or from the crown of thorns shoved painfully into His beautiful head. It was becoming sin for us and enduring all of our self-will into His holy Self that had never tasted of sin or self-will, ever in His eternal existence. It was drinking of that terrible cup of sin and judgment. Jesus Christ's sacrifice and offering of Himself provided salvation through His precious blood, and abundant life through the abuse He suffered in His body. We enter into this abundant life through the door of the new birth as we step into His Kingdom Life by the power of the Holy Spirit as we go on Mission for God.Real Pain was birthed out of some random notes jotted down for an Easter message for a brand new move of God called Red Hope Church in Yakima, Washington State, USA. It then became a series of message ideas and then became clear that God had something He wanted to say through telling His Beloved Son's story through a single narrative woven from the four Gospels. It is not a new revelation or at the level of God's holy and infallible Word as contained in the sixty-six books of the Bible represented by the holy canon of Scripture. The author is careful to point out what is opinion, perspective and imagination, as he follows the mind of the Spirit in telling the Savior's story. At the end of each chapter are reflective questions to ask ourselves how seeing Jesus walk through His life on the Father's mission can help us live life to the full as we go on mission for God. Real Pain focuses on the Lord Jesus' pain and suffering, and is the first book of a series called Jesus Real .
