Rethinking Pastoral Challenges and Conflicts in Religious Institutions in the Light of the Synoptic Gospels is a timely and significant contribution to both pastoral ministry and the broader field of conflict studies. With theological depth and scholarly clarity, Rev. Fr. Matthew S. Ibok, Ph.D., offers a thoughtful and practical guide for understanding the roots of pastoral challenges and navigating them with wisdom, compassion, and biblical grounding.

As someone who studied alongside Fr. Ibok during our doctoral work in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Nova Southeastern University-and having listened to his insightful presentations many times at the Annual International Conference on Ethnic and Religious Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding-I can attest to his intellectual depth, pastoral sensitivity, and unwavering commitment to peacebuilding within religious communities.

This book stands out for its unique integration of Scripture, conflict resolution theory, and lived pastoral experience. Fr. Ibok provides readers with a clear framework for conflict prevention, management, resolution, and transformation, making this work indispensable for clergy, seminarians, religious educators, and anyone seeking to build healthier, more harmonious faith communities.

For readers who desire a resource that is spiritually enriching, academically sound, and pastorally practical, this book is must-read.

Highly recommended.

- Basil Ugorji, Ph.D., Executive Director, International Center for Ethno-Religious Mediation, New York Conference Chair, Annual International Conference on Ethnic and Religious Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding
