Urrutia explores certain difficult areas of chapters 12 through 17 of Revelation. He brings a good number of new features and valuable approaches. It is likely, however, that not everyone will agree with all his deductions and conclusions. For example, the most difficult section of Revelation that would require special wisdom as specified by the Apostle John has been filled by different preterist, futuristic, and historicist interpretations. It is clear in his book that preterist approaches have fallen into bankruptcy in interpreting this passage. Nor is there a basis for futuristic approaches to their already fulfilled historical background. But the variety of interpretations that brings up historicist understanding makes us wonder if perhaps in the seven heads of Rev. 17 we may have come to have that wisdom that Revelation requires in all its details. In reading his analysis, it seems to us that if we do not yet have that complete wisdom, we are close.

No one doubts how complex the eschatological and prophetic themes of the Bible are. These have a variety of focuses and approaches, which in the end are not coincident. Hector Urrutia, a well-versed scholar of biblical prophecy, surprises us again with his third book on apocalyptic prophecies. I had the privilege of reading his two previous books: "Apocalyptic Prophecies of Daniel" and "The Three Woes of the Apocalypse". The truth is that I was captivated by his style, depth of concepts, the seriousness with which he deals with the eschatological issue and especially that particular conviction that is reflected in his words. My experience with reading his books was that I couldn't stop until I finished them. Simply a delight. In this new book: "The Beasts of the Apocalypse", I have to say: "Hector, he did it again!". His masterful pen once again builds us up. I have been greatly blessed by reading it, and I am sure it will be so for the readers who purchase it.
